Amy Adams is rumoured to be pregnant with her first child. The 35-year-old Julie And Julia star and her fiance Darren Legallo have been together seven years, and People magazine has reported they are expecting their first child together. Amy and Darren met in acting class in 2001 and became engaged in July 2008. The Enchanted beauty will next be seen in the romantic comedy Leap Year, which is released in the US on January 8. It was recently revealed she is to star in The Ten Best Days Of My Life, based on the novel of the same name, directed by Josh Klausner. The Oscar-nominated actress will play the lead in and produce the movie about a woman who dies and finds herself in the best area of the afterlife, called Seventh Heaven. However, she will be demoted to a lower level unless she recalls the best 10 days of her life.
The Doubt actress and her fiance Darren Legallo are expecting their first child together and the baby is due later next year. The couple first met in an acting class in 2001 and got engaged last July, but they have yet to set a wedding date. Amy recently revealed how Darren was keen to get married and start a family but she wasn't quite ready. She said: "I've been really busy, and I feel like a horrible fiancee that I haven't gotten swept up in the whole idea of a wedding. He wants to be married. He understands I'm busy but he's ready. He's much more ready for kids and stuff than I am." Carrie Underwood has beaten the odds: at a time of the year when TV is clogged with Christmas specials, she managed to put one together that stood out. It had something for everyone — singing, sentiment, silliness, and sex. And she made its charms last for a full two hours. At first, it was a little hard to see where the “holiday” in this An All-Star Holiday Special was going to apply. Underwood began by singing “Cowboy Casanova” attired in various tight black materials, with what looked like platform boots borrowed from KISS. Oh my, I thought, what a refreshing alternative to the seasonal red-and-green!
When I first read Underwood’s eclectic guest list — Dolly Parton and David Cook, no surprises there; but Kristen Chenoweth and Christina Applegate, too? — I thought, uh-oh, this could be a trying-to-please-everybody bland-fest. Instead, this varied line-up proved to be one of the strengths of the evening. Yes, she sang an impeccable duet with Dolly, a stark “I Will Always Love You.” But she also offered a sweetly raucous tribute to ’60s girl-group pop, as Underwood, Chenoweth and Applegate, in pink prom dresses and beehive hairdos, powered through a fine medley of songs such as “Leader of The Pack,” “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” and “Be My Baby.”Roethlisberger
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is set to start Sunday's game against Oakland after sitting out last week because of headaches caused by a concussion. Roethlisberger was hurt during the November 22 game against Kansas City, then passed a battery of tests the day after and practiced both Wednesday and Thursday last week in preparation for the game at Baltimore. However, he took limited reps on Friday and the Steelers decided to keep him out of the Sunday night contest. The two-time Super Bowl winner was back at practice this week. Pittsburgh safety Troy Polamalu was inactive and missed his third straight game with a knee injury.
